Repair of Masonry Problems

This course covers the repair and prevention of 8 typical problem areas encountered with masonry construction. These are cracking, moisture leakage, stucco de-bonding, stucco cracking, in-grouted cells, missing rebar, soft mortar, and efflorescence.

Attendees will learn:
- Causes and cures for cracking of concrete masonry and stucco.
- The “belts and suspenders” approach to reducing moisture leakage through masonry walls.
- When the extent of stucco de-bonding requires repair.
- What options are available when mortar in the wall doesn’t get hard.
